| Register Here Hardy Days for 3rd and 4th Graders Location: Hardy Girls Healthy Women 14 Common St. Waterville Hardy Days is a unique, interactive summer program for girls in grades 3-6. The two session program will give girls the opportunity to meet with other girls from around the area and participate in hands-on, low cost activities. During the sessions girls will get to meet women who are defying gender stereotypes and challenging notions of what a girl or woman "should" do or be; participate in team-building games and learn skills such as public speaking; and learn to think critically about media images through art projects. Workshops will be lead by community volunteers (local artists and martial arts instructors), members of the Hardy Girls' Girls Advisory Board, and Hardy Girls' Director of Programs. Hardy Days will be held July 13-16, 2009 12 pm. - 5 pm. 1st Session: 3rd-4th graders July 13 & 14 Sessions are $50 per girl and include healthy snacks and materials for all activities. Scholarships are always available for sessions! Kellie Huard - Instructor Huard's Martial Arts: In this workshop girls will meet Kellie and learn about women in martial arts as well as jiu-jitsu/taijitsu self defense and muay thai/kickboxing! 5 pm. Pick Up Tuesday July 14 12-1 Drop-Off, Snack, and Teambuilding Games 1-1:45 Leadership, and Ally Activities 1:45-3:45 Workshop: Trip to Colby College Museum of Art 3:45-5 Snack, Arts and Crafts Real Beauty Is... | Register Here New England Regional 9-Wicket Croquet Tournament to Benefit Hardy Girls Location: Pleasant Point Field in Oakland, ME Wine & Wickets Cocktail Party 7/31, 7:00 pm NE Regional Croquet Tournament 8/1, 9:00 am Rain Date 8/2, 9:00 am Join Hardy Girls Healthy Women as we get out our mallets for a croquet match! Forty two-person teams will take to the fields for the New England Regional 9 Wicket Croquet Tournament on Saturday, August 1st at 9 am, with a rain date of Sunday, August 2nd. Please also join us as beginners and seasoned professionals come together on Friday evening, July 31st for Wine & Wickets, a lesson and social hour on the rolling lawns overlooking the Belgrade Lakes. Tournament Registration: $100 Tournament and Wine & Wickets Event: $125 Wine & Wickets Event Only: $35 (Your registration fee for the tournament includes membership in the USCA 9-Wicket Group, a $15 value) Proceeds will benefit Hardy Girls Healthy Women's Scholarship Fund, which ensures that all girls may participate in HGHW programming at low or no cost to them. |
