Sept. 24 Pack It In, Pack It Out
Meet wilderness trip leader Vanessa Jones of Coastal Studies for Girls, a school in Freeport Maine dedicated to teaching girls about leadership and science. Basic back packing, compass reading, and outdoor orienteering right in our backyard! Join us for a hike through the forest at this kick off event! Oct. 8 Sound the Alarm!
When there's a fire- Vicki will be there! From hatchets to oxygen tanks, firefighters have to be prepared for anything! Meet Maine State Fire Instructor Vicki Schmidt, as we explore the Fire Station, trucks, gear and learn what it takes to be a fire fighter. Oct. 22 Jane of All Trades
Meet the women of Women Unlimited who will teach us about women in the fields of carpentry, construction and more. Learn how the trades help the environment. In this adventure girls will work together to construct their very own birdhouse! Location: Hardy Girls, 14 Common St., Waterville 04901

Nov. 5 Robotics
Meet Jamee Luce and the girls of the Infinite Loop Robotics team! Girls will see demonstrations and learn the different ways to construct vehicles, animals, machines and much more using Lego Mindstorm technology. Location: Messalonskee High School, 131 Messalonskee High Dr., Oakland, ME 04963


Nov. 19 Lumber Jane
Meet Julia Knoeff and the women of the woodsmen team. We'll learn the differences between a bow saw and a cross cut saw among other fast paced exciting forestry skills. Demonstrations in speed fire building, wood chopping and axe throwing. Location: Woodsmen Field, Washington St. Colby College, Waterville, ME 04901

Jan. 15 Power Paddles SUNDAY
Let's go kayaking! Meet Kayakers Dana and Murielle DiBiase of the Penobscot Paddle and Chowder Society and learn basic paddle techniques as well as how to properly flip over your kayak! We'll also try our hand at racing and swamping. Location: Alfond Youth Center, 126 North St., Waterville, ME 04901

Jan. 21 Miss Wizard!
Meet physics professor Lisa Lessard and learn how everything in the universe affects every other thing from the cosmos to the weather! Science can be fun too! From dropping eggs to floating boats, girls will learn hands on how everything interacts! Location: 3rd floor Mudd Building, Colby College, 4000 Mayflower Hill Dr., Waterville, ME 04901

Feb. 18 Stick It to 'Em
Pucks, slapshots, and frosty fun await the adventure girl who comes out to meet Amanda Vickerson, Colby grad and ice hockey player. Learn the game and find out what all those pads are for! This event is for all skill levels. Ice Skates: bring 'em if you have 'em, but they are not required. Location: Johnson Pond, Colby College, 4000, Mayflower Hill Dr., ME 04901

March 10/March 17 Women Who Weld 
What's a job that's fun, makes a lot of money, and lets you travel? Meet Edie Benttinen of D&E Metalworks to learn the art of using a torch to make everything from sculptures to fences. Participants will get to keep their pieces. Location: D&E Metalworks, 772 Rome Rd., Mercer 04957


April 7 Dairy Queen 
 Linda Hartkopf, owner of Hart to Hart Farm, will teach us about life as a female farmer and business woman. Where does our food come from? What do farmers have to do to make sure that animals are healthy, the tractor's running, and the crops are growing? Girls will find out at this event! May 19 "Rock It" Science!
Valerie Reynolds, geology professor, will show us what a day in the life an earth scientist is like. What's an outcrop? What's bedrock? How do mountains form? From the earth to the minerals in our cell phones, geology is everywhere. We'll explore the lab and discover what's under the surface! June 2 Chemical Commotion
Who says that chemistry has to be all work and no fun? Adventurers will meet Chemist Lisa Miller who will show us how to make chemical reactions, discover what's in everyday foods and conduct other experiments in the lab.
